Electricity Distribution Company Mid-year Ranking

Anchored on the feedback from electricity customers in Nigeria, these results aim to assess the overall performance of the Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) based on the following indices:

  • Customer service
  • Value for money
  • Hours of supply availability
  • Quality of power
  • Communication and customer engagement
  • Quality of electricity supply infrastructure

The main aim of the exercise was to assess the performance of the electricity Distribution companies in Nigeria with a view to pressurizing the operators to improve service delivery in the power distribution sub-sector. Electricity customers from across the country were asked to participate in an online survey, hosted on several platforms and conducted using SurveyMonkey®.

The survey included questions about the customer’s experience with their respective DisCos.  It asked questions about their experience interacting with staff of the DisCos: response times, rate of complaint resolution, quality of power, etc. The survey also asked respondents to give an overall assessment of their experience as regards the quality of service by the DisCos.
