Truly speaking the issue of vandalism transcends the realm of the power sector as it is strictly a security issue which is well beyond the purview or control of agents within the power sector. Agreeably it is not power sector infrastructure that alone that is constantly threatened by these acts of vandalism, notably gas, crude oil facilities etc. are examples of other infrastructures commonly under attacks and interestingly these also affect the power sector. It is the duty of security agencies to develop effective and efficient means of securing all national infrastructures. Also the citizens have a role to play by helping notify the security agencies of all observed or suspected acts of vandalism.
