Phase 3 Telecom Limited, an Abuja-based independent fibre optic infrastructure and telecommunications services provider, says its operations of the optic fibre network in the North-West and South-West of the Transmission Company of Nigeria have never caused any power outage. Its Chief Executive Officer, Olusola Teniola, clarified this following claims that the termination of a concession agreement it entered into with the TCN in 2006 was affecting the stability of the national grid.

The TCN had reportedly said the feud arising from the concession contract between the two companies seemed to be frustrating TCN’s network management system thereby impacting negatively on the national grid.

But Teniola said: “For the records I want to state categorically clear that Phase 3 and its operations of the aerial Optic Fiber networks in the North-West and South- West of the TCN network has never caused an outage in the 15 years that we have involved in operation an aerial fiber network.”
